COI

Problem:

A developing communications landscape, budget constraints and anticipated political change was placing new pressure on the COI to deliver enhanced citizen engagement and behavior change (with a ‘more for less’ paradigm). The team lacked the depth of knowledge in digital innovation and the tools to make quick decisions.

Solution:

A multi-discipline/departmental delegate group, from across Civil Service, were brought together to meet the challenge. The first phase was a ‘digital immersion’ hot-house to up-skill and increase knowledge of the latest digital platform and communication innovations. Learning sessions and workshops with leading UK digital pioneers were conducted. The second phase was the creation and delivery of an innovation competition to deliver four innovative ‘ventures’ that met the stated challenges and were ready to test. A defined process of ideation, filtering and reviewing was utilized. The third phase developed the winning ‘ventures’ further to be taken to market with appropriate partners.

I hired Venturing Unlimited for an unusual innovation project, with
the aim of creating entrepreneurs out of Civil Servant communicators.
I knew that their offer was unique in terms of their unrivaled
knowledge of the digital landscape and connections but nothing could
have prepared me for the exceptional results they delivered for us at
a great value. If you get the chance to work with their team, grab it

Microsoft

Problem:

To secure the support of the wide range of key companies and individuals in the entrepreneurial and start-up community in the UK for a new program, enabling fast take-up and high profile press coverage.

Solution:

A program that identified stakeholders in the UK entrepreneurial community, created a program to attract and enable the community based on the established strategy. Personal introductions and connections to investors, entrepreneurs, journalists and academics fueled the program and ongoing development and outreach facilitated the transfer to the internal team.

At Microsoft, we have worked with the team on many occasions to help meet our goal to connect with the very best of the UK start-up scene. Being entrepreneurs themselves, they know their stuff, and I value their insight and opinion. They continually operate with the highest standards of professionalism.
